What this 16 Step forum is all about

This forum was created to provide a safe, sane place to use, discuss and study the 16 Steps of Discovery and Empowerment created by Charlotte Kasl, Phd. from her book "Many Roads One Journey - Moving Beyond the 12 Steps" and the corresponding workbook, "Yes, You Can!".
We gather together to support each other in healing from addictions, compulsions, and dysfunctional, self defeating, destructive behaviors. We encourage each person to find and revel in their own power, intelligence, self-esteem and strengths. We are here to support each other, but we do not presume to know what is best for another. We realize that all people unfold in their own way and their own time. We learn from each other and draw strength from seeing the courage of others, yet we keep the focus on ourselves. We listen to each other's pain, but we also bond in power and joy and encourage everyone to take the necessary steps to live with respect and meaning in their lives. We are open to all possibilities for healing and finding our internal wisdom and power.

For a quick  overview of Dr. Kasl's approach to recovery  please read the article - keeping in mind that these 16 Steps are not gender specific - featured in
"Counselor Magazine" . Come and join us in our journeys to self discovery and empowerment!

A Place to Play and Have Fun ala Step 13

All work and no play make Jack and Jill a dull boy and girl. A place for humor, silliness, quizzes, games, goofy threads, miscellaneous flotsam and jetsam, nonsense, etc. Whatever amuses you all. Chatting amongst members in threads is OK here. Keep it clean and G-rated - if it is questionable, label it as "RACY" in the post's subject line.
